May 6th, 2013City of Erie officials rolled out new police cars today to add to the fleet.
Eight
cars were bought for the department thanks to Erie Insurance, Gannon
University, the Erie Western Pennsylvania Port Authority and the Housing
Authority of the city of Erie.
Each new car cost 50 thousand dollars including all the equipment.
It's an expense the city might not have been able to afford if it weren't for these contributions.
Chief Franklin says cars usually remain on the fleet until they reach 200 thousand miles.
